There's not much wrong with Beach Rotana if all you want to do is relax on a sunbed with a book and a drink and have a good meal. We were there at the end of November for a couple of nights and had very good roasted pork knuckle in Brauhaus and really very good roasted fish in Prego. If fish is a favourite then Finz is also recommended. Don't particularly like Trader Vic (not just at Beach Rotana - anywhere) and haven't tried Rodeo Grill because, as yet, the only place in the ME that has ever cooked a steak they way we like it, blue, is Ruth's in Dubai. Haven't tried the Indian either so can't comment. If either of you gets fed up then you can walk from the hotel directly into Abu Dhabi Mall - access is opposite the entrance to the Indian restaurant.

Enjoy your weekend 😎
