Looking for an Xcel Guru
Does anyone know in Excel what formula I can use to generate a time based schedule
Task -----how long---start time----finish time
1 ----------5 mins ----0900-------0905
2-----------75 mins 0905-------1020 etc etc time would keep rolling forward so finish time move to next task start time and keep going
Can't seem to get the time shift in a 24 hr clock basis

First of all, make sure that you have formatted the cells as "time" (right click on the cell or cells, choose format, then select time. You get a range of choices of how the time will be displayed).
Getting the cells to calculate correctly is a bit difficult to explain. Set up a row so that start time = previous rows finish time. Finish time = this rows start time + duration. Then use the autofill handle to copy that row as many times as you need to. Enter the durations and bob should be your proverbial..
If you get really stuck I'll knock one together for you & email it.
Finally, you might find that MS Project is a better tool for this job!
