Last man / woman on earth

Re: Last man / woman on earth
It will take centuries to reverse the impact of man-made global warming. It will stop getting worse, which is no bad thing, but many of the outcomes are already happening and likely to lead to some more chain reactions as they develop. Of course whatever caused the catastrophe might have changed the atmosphere also...

I'd use Scotland as a holiday home, Balmoral maybe just to piss off the spirit of Wee Nippy Krankie off. Also the roads are some of the best driving roads in the world.
Water wouldn't be an issue. More than enough bottled water to last a life time. Especially as I'd be rationing it by mostly drinking beer.
Tinned food would get repetitive so yeah I'd be growing stuff.....
I'd also be looking for though would be a kick ass motor home, then a nice motor cruiser. Nothing too big, maybe 40 odd foot so easily operated singlehanded. Then' I'd spend my time sourcing a sweet cruising yacht, again, only 40' so doable solo. Then pack that up with food and supplies from Amsterdam and set off on an adventure.
I would need a companion tho. Can I have a dog?

I'd want to kill myself, cause who the eff will run the water and electricity utility plant, so I can have long hot showers with good pressure !! We hates droopy showers, hates it! , hates it!

All I would need is a generator and a new water heater, which I would liberate from Lowes or Home Depot, and my water and shower needs would be solved, assuming I could get a supply of fuel for the generator.

1 of the things I love about living in Abu Dhabi was never running out of warm water for the shower , and dam good pressure. But what I hated was my family not getting a top-loading old school American washer.
In my house in London and here I had a tankless gas heater installed so I can don't have to worry about running out of hot water.

I'd need a library too. So I could read the books to explain how these things actually work. I don't have a mechanical bent even if I am fairly practical, relatively speaking.

Like in the series, Malibu is close enough to important stuff like hospitals, libraries, supermarkets etc.
I would also want to arm myself. Just because.

If I was in the US when this apocalypse happened Northern California would be my choice. If on another continent I wouldn't be crossing an ocean on my own to get there though.
I may also have spent quite a lot of time pondering this topic.

Yes, I have spent too much time on this too.
If in Europe I'd be going Mediterranean...although the UK would always be pleasant and you'd know everything and everywhere.

Who will shut down the nuclear reactors to avoid a meltdown. I suppose if you are far enough away , it won't matter as even with a meltdown the radiation levels and damage to environment would eventually remedy itself.

Re nuclear, see my earlier posts: that's possibly why I'd chose Morocco or a bit further south, out of range bar a few power plants in Spain and with prevailing winds not from Europe. Temperate so don't need much -- if any -- heating or cooling.
Need to keep it all simple, and safe.

I fear I may be dead within a year with all the potential issues. I hadn't even thought about nuclear reactors, but neither has the TV programme.
