At least know why you are offended.

On the whole (to use a slightly unfortunate expression ), I agree. Like most khaleejis (except probably Omanis), Saudis can be very off-putting in a formal setting (like officials, immigration etc) but once you get to know them personally they are often funny and generous, if prone to weird views on some subjects.

In general they can be much more down to earth than many Emaratis, Qataris or Kuwaitis as they are less likely to be well-off or well-connected.

I don't think it is a representation of a saudi woman driving at all: it is a picture of a saudi woman driving. I put it up in celebration of this fact, if you found it funny or in some way offensive or taking the piss that is your own doing. I cannot control your thoughts.

Jeez louise everyone!
Chill pill anyone?
btw I look forward to more Saudi desperate housewives in Dubai Malls...should be fun!

As someone who has been to Saudi and has actually driven there, it is a MAD place to drive even at the best of times. Just like in men, there are good and bad drivers, as there are good and bad drivers in women is what I think. And just like all things that start out brand new, it takes some time to work out the kinks etc.

Agree, it will take a few years for:

1) women to get used to, or learning to drive in Saudi.

2) men to get used to women being on the road driving.

3) men to get used to the idea that their wife, daughter, sister etc has the option to, or wants to, and is able to drive.

But hopefully in five years say, people will look back and ask themselves what all the fuss was about, as the sky didn't fall down.

I think it's particularly true here. In casual and formal interactions in public, locals can come off as very off-hand and arrogant-seeming, moreso than most places. We all comment on it all the time. The contrast with their behaviour when they know you is (usually) dramatic.
