Default Kia Sportage Vs Hyundai Tucsan

Would really appreciate your views on which model of the to go for between the Kia sportage and Hyundai tucsan. both are in budget and it's really a toss up between the two.

If there are any existing owners of either cars or all round general car buffs - would really appreciate your thoughts !! TIA zabone

Both have good service and warranty packages, both will depreciate like a stone, both will be reliable, both are pretty uninspiring to look at, What do you like the look of?

They're much of a muchness but I think the Kia looks better.

The Hyundai may come better stacked as they are changing it soon. Both are good, solid reliable cars for not a lot of money. You will be ok either way.

Off road, I think the Hyundai is better (I've at least driven it - haven't driven the Kia)

Underneath they are very similar - but they are so cheap out here that depreciation won't matter.

Why not go up a notch? The Santa Fe gives you a good bit more than the Tucson - mine has never let me down. Good up mountains and in the dunes.

And sexy. Which is obviously important to some people.

to be honest i dont anticipate much driving off the normal conventional roads - unless the roads to Abu-dhabi from dubai are not of the same ilk as SZR as we will be visiting Abu dhab more regular for buisness i??

otherwise will only be using the car for local to work and then local shopping at MoE, ibn batttuta etc.. and the occasional trips to deira and bur dubai etc.... we will be having our first child in oct so really want a 4x4 type car in case of the occasional shunt - already had one in the hired Yaris but fortunately was not too severe !! will have alook at santa fe though for comparision..

the prices of the cars over here are amazing though - we are saving approx 6k/7k sterling comapred to the uk prices !!! as for the sexiness of a car i belong in the 'beauty is in the eye of the beholder' gang....

I think the Sportage isn't a bad looking car.

Certainly nicer than the X3 and the Cayenne for example
