iPod
I am a bit slow with getting into the interweb, but I am thinking of buying an iPod, the one that looks just like an iPhone.
I assume it has wifi capability, so I can check my mail when I'm at airport lobbies and other places like that, without having to carry a laptop around.
Or is that a dumb idea? I need to keep my phone (work) and other stuff totally separate.

Re: iPod
Depends on what you're wanting....music only, or music + connectivity.
The iPod Touch IMO is a redundant piece of kit - it has limited capacity and you can only upload files in their highest resolution only in Apple M4A format, which is crap compared with FLAC for instance.
You're better off buying either an iPhone or an iPad if you also want the connectivity, or if you want hi-fi quality music on the move, buy a Colorfly C5.

Re: iPod
More like podcasts, (news and current affairs from back home, as well as the sports results)
Plus connectivity.

Re: iPod
I bought two itouches last week. Nice little thing - although totally pointless if you have an iphone (which I don't and its unlikely I ever will). I bought them for Mother Millhouse's birthday and facetime.

That's the one! Like you, I am unlikely to get an iPhone.
