Samsung pay
It's nothing super ht-tech really, your phone just takes a copy of your card and then uses the NFC to allow for payment at a contactless compatible terminal. No need to enter a pin - done by the fingerprint innit
Amazingly slow uptake given how good it is, but that is because Apple tried to muscle in on the interchange fee but usually get told to do one by visa.

It was as blatant as I could be without just saying it...
We have vouchers now because the 10dizzer note got nicked 2-3 times.
Water delivery guy said it's really common, another delivery guy from food / courier / whatever will see and just think....'thanks'!

I use the cc in bars too, sometimes by looking at the receipt next day it’s the only way I know where I’ve been.

Never owned a CC, Bank Card has Visa so 99% of the time I try and use that.
Have been resisting Apple Pay...for no valid reason actually
But I do carry some cash with me at all times, especially when doing the Ajman run to tip the guy or for waiters etc

Apart from the cleaner, the shirt man and the prostitues, I 100pct use Apple Pay or the credit card.
I keep a small float at home but little in my wallet. I just don’t use it.
I found that Apple Pay is well developed in the UK this last trip. I only used cash there in 8 days once (and that was to lend to someone!).

Thought of you today as I had two bottles of water delivered. I was cooking dinner at the time and only knew via an alert on my phone. Brilliant. One less person I have to talk to.

I'm similar in the respect that I do whatever I can to avoid talking to people. I will order food online and won't bother if the only option is to phone them.

I saw a little sign announcing cashless smart pay (whatever you call it) is now available at Costa in Doha. It's the first I've seen it here.
I really don't know what the difference is between paying in cash and using a card. It's all the same at the end of the day. The only advantage I can see is not having lots of coins bulking up your wallet (looking at you, UK) but that's rarely a problem in Qatar.
