My family like the Hilton Resort at RAK. Relaxed, nice beach and pools, good service, reasonably-priced restaurants, good (but not outstanding) food, and just up the road. Dunno about prices, still using my points

Do you mean the hotel itself is the destination?

3-4 hours if you floor it. My kids are old enough to keep themselves amused on a trip, but if yours are younger could be tiring.

Went to look at the Hilton at Fujairah (just as far as RAK, though), but neither the hotel nor the beach compares with those at RAK.

How about Emirates Palace?

yeh was going to say jebal ali hotel, we stayed last weekend at its "extension" as we have older kids, under 12s can stay in JA hotel under 15s in extension, it cost us 780 for room with breakfast. staying in JA its cheaper nearer the 600 mark. big rooms, 3 swim pools, nice beach, and only 50 mins or so from mangrove.

I love the JA hotel. I first went there 6/7 years ago - I think we have been back at some point every year since we moved here. Much nicer in the spa - if you get a suite on the beach it's great.

jump in the car for a run up to Ibn Butta for a pizza express dinner with the entertainer vouchers.

Atlantis is cheap again at the moment - food is a shocker there though so be prepared to drive up to JBR for dinner!
