Default henry viii...

...was actually a right old selfish, self-centred bastard, wasn't he...

just finished watching the second series of the tudors, which goes up til the execution of anne boleyn (who was herself a scheming cow)...and it's quite astonishing some of the things he did...serves him right that he never got the male heir he was so desparate for...

Funnily enough just started David Starkey's book on him Henry: Virtuous Prince, which is about the young Henry before he turned into a bit of a git!

I remember Keith Michell playing him in a TV production in the 70s........

Well, when I say "playing him"............... perhaps the worst interpretation of a major character ever seen on UK telly. Useless fat Aussie git...........

........... should have stuck with Captain Beaky...........

Fab series wasn't it. He was a complete nutcase, married Jane Seymour within days of chopping off Anne's head.

Whens the 3rd series out?

already is, am downloading episode 3 for the missus right now. david starky currently has a series on henry being broadcast as well which is ok.

Dont forget folks that tudors takes huge liberties with actual history and the two should'nt be confused. eg series one morphs henrys 2 sisters into 1 character
