Hair transplants
Im thinking about a hair transplant (on my head!) - well when I say I am thinking it was the wifes idea as we are attending a VIP wedding. I am happy having head shaved every 4 or 5 days.
Any one had this procedure ?

You want to spend loads of money to put some hair on your head all because you are going to a wedding?

Re: Hair transplants
Start by not shaving your head;-) Get a nice suitable hat.

My wife has had 'comments' I believe from FaceAche and her friends comments have more bearing than my small voice.
I like the idea of a hat with a morning suit!

You, for someone who always comes across quite smart and sharp, have lost the plot.
Hair just for a wedding?
What about the rest of the time, do you want hair?
Are you bald on top and just shave all over to keep it tight / bald?
I'd lend you mine, I've got loads of hair on my head and it does my head in how thick it is.

from what I've seen on telly it's a painstaking expensive treatment that doesn't give you instant results...not sure how far off this wedding is...but you need to give yourself at least a good 3-6 months for the hair growth.

Re: Hair transplants
If your wife's friends have made negative comments about your lack of hair, to the point she is paying attention then, a) she needs less shallow friends and b) she needs to realise that a man is much more than his hair, or lack of, on his head.

Go to Turkey. It's not that expensive, about 1/5 the price of DXB - about four people in my office have had it done, with good results. I always see loads of people with bleeding shaved heads on the IST-DXB flight.
takes a while though - you're looking at a year before it looks normal. It looks OK, all falls out and looks fluffy and stupid, then slowly grows back.
Good luck - not a problem I'm going to face, as I'm turning into Phillip Schofield.

Re: Hair transplants
A guy in work with me (60 year old English chap), recently had this carried out in the UK. Hair removed from lower on his head and transplanted into the bald part at the top.
Was out with him recently and I have to say it looks pretty good and natural (it's about four months on from the procedure) though he is getting a pretty savage ribbing about it
Anyhow reasoning for doing it aside, it does seem like a successful process.
