Sure. Then. Are you confident that if another referendum were held, Leave would still win?

In any event, the the ever-aptly-named IKnowNothing seems to be labouring under the delusion that there's some kind of general majority in the UK in favour of leaving the EU. There isn't. Not even close.

(Oh the irony, being called by a donkey). Polls taken now suggests there is something like a 65/35 pro leave split.

Anyway, the only one that mattered is the Yes/No and the Yes to leave won by a majority, if the remainers had one do you seriously think the bitterness and hatred would have come out? Of course not - you're of a similar vein to little krankie, if at first the populace refuses to accept what you want, try, try and try again until they do.

That's democracy eh?

I think Brexit is the new Hilter/Nazi reference on forums. So dull.

If you want to stay an EU citizen then buy a house in Portugal under their golden visa program. It's what I'll probably do.

Loca was where I went for my first ever BE meet up, to buy many people a beer for their help in my move. Only one or two left, although Meow hasn't been posting in a while so maybe nobody.

I'll do a new thread.

Well I seem to have precipitated this wild veering off course by what was meant to be a facetious comment equating Trump with Kim but which - astonishingly - went right past IKN, who I inadvertently trolled, and off we went...

Ah yes, that poll conducted by the Express among fifteen people in a pub in Merthyr Tydfil.

The Express manages to be even more delusional over Brexit than the Mail

if the remainers had one do you seriously think the bitterness and hatred would have come out? Of course not - you're of a similar vein to little krankie, if at first the populace refuses to accept what you want, try, try and try again until they do
You seriously think that if Remain had won by such a tiny majority, the Leavers would have put decades of whining and bitching behind them, accepted the result, gone away and shut up?

In an interview on the 16th May last year, Nigel Farage said that he would fight for a second referendum if Remain won by a small margin. He said - and I quote - "In a 52-48 referendum [win for Remain] this would be unfinished business by a long way. If the remain campaign win two-thirds to one-third, that ends it.”

So the Brexit figurehead is on record as stating that he would not accept a democratic result that didn't go his way if the majority was a thin one. If the populace refused to accept what he wanted, he planned to campaign to try, try and try again until they did.

And it's worth remembering that at the point during the count where it seemed that Remain had won and Farage had conceded defeat, pro-Leave social media exploded with "This isn't over, we will never stop fighting to leave the EU, we will force another referendum and this time we'll win"-type sentiments. Of course, all those people now like to pretend that they never said any of that.

Funny old world, innit?
