Unfortunately, the company I work for refuse to pay locally, only back in the UK! Yet another reason for changing jobs.

No - you misunderstand. You should have moved your money in Sterling to Dirhams at over 7%. If you had, you would be finding things here much cheaper right now.

It pays to watch markets.

Mervyn King (Govenor of the Bank of England) warned that the UK was heading for recession so Sterling fell against the US Dollar. It hit its lowest rate for five years.

I was told this week by my boss that historically the US $ rallies against the UK £ following the election of a new president - can anybody back up his claim. As a young pup myself i've never really taken an interest in this before and yes I know that nothing is guaranteed....!
