I am a month into 3 months gardening leave and I am now starting to get bored. What do non-working people do in this town?

I have skiied (sp), I have golfed, I have taken the sea plane tour, I have joined the gym, I have sun bathed and I have shopped alot... what else is there to do?

If I had the luxury of three months "gardening leave", Dubai would be the last place on earth I would be. Why not go back-packing through Latin America or anywhere decidely more interesting than here?

I'd love a month of not having to work

Catch up all books you never get around to reading
Take a course
Play more golf
Vist the local places that you never seem to have time to visit when working (museums, galleries, souks etc)

I'd like to think I'd do some constructive - work with a charity, perhaps. Or learn a new language.

In practice I'd likely watch DVDs till lunchtime then go and get pissed.

I took 3 months out before I came here, albeit in England. I worked in a mates bar for a few shifts a week, just for some pocket money and had a great time. Passes the time, you get paid and you might even get drunk! The rest of the time, I spent in the gym or catching up with people.
