a fun day at work on drugs
Well I have been to the dentist this morning after 2 weeks of pain, I had decided I had a sinus infection which could lead to a brain infection and me dieing so thought I'd better have it checked out. Turns out Id cracked my wisdom tooth so they yanked it out there and then, so currently half my face is numb and im a bit high- quite enjoying it and everything is a bit funny.
No doubt i will not be laughing when it wears off...
Can honestly say it wasnt as bad as I thought it would be having a wisdom tooth out, no breaking of jaw, only a few tears and a rather handsome dentist- happy days
woohoo.... floats off around the office

Hope you don't get too much discomfort after the anaesthetic wears off. A glass of 'Jamiesons' usually does the trick!
BTW: I need a dentist myself - but have a pathological fear of them, after a bad experience in the UK, which landed me in hospital. Can anyone recommend a dentist specialising in 'Apprehensive' patients?

wel jack i am not a fan of dentists myself- note why id put it off for two weeks. I've been going to Nicolas & Asp in Jumeria- they aren't cheap (as my insurance doesnt cover dental) but came strongy recommended. I've had two treatments with them with two different dentists- both have been fantastic. And the guy I had today was rather lovely which obviously helps- if you're female or gay!
Me on whisky is a dangerous combination- not sure if id risk it here as normally involves dancing on tables etc- so maybe best to give that one a miss!

I see Dr Alex Bickerton (is he who you saw, KC?!) who works at Dr Nicholas & Asp - either Jumeirah or Marina branches. He's lovely... in fact, possibly the best dentist I've every had. Really puts you at ease, really friendly, knows his stuff, bit of banter and as as gentle as I never thought possible. For example, he gets the anaesthetic so spot on (and used special thin needles) that you don't even feel the injection going in (which always seems to be the most painful part!). I'm positively looking forward to getting my crown replaced! lol

Thanks very much indeed! I did have a good dentist here, but unfortunately he has moved-on. The Crowns he did back in 2000 are all rather loose, and a couple have fallen out completely - So it's either a Good Dentist, or a Building Contractor!

oh, ask for Dr Alex next time - unless of course you want another gaze into Dr Chris's eyes...
Oh, toothache?! What toothache?!

I had a similar experience at the Emirates Hospital in Jumeira. I was being treated by an Egyptian Doctor, and a Nurse from Yorkshire. I needed a few jabs, but it was when he said "Just a small Prick . . ." the nurse and I had the same thought, at the same time! Neither of us could stop laughing! - Had to take a break, and try again later.
