Fake Money

Anyone read this story??

I cannot figure out why they have not arrested them for co-habiting as well, as they are not married??

Now that it's in the DM he'll be out in a few days.

Dubai PLC is very keen to avoid stories like this. It's obviously a cock-up of major proportions.

No they are not, she is referred to as his partner, not wife, and they have different surnames!!

That means nothing these days, wives are legally allowed to keep their maiden names and always have been, it's just convention that says different.

Maybe it was scottish currency that is not valid here?

Seems to be an epic cock-up though, it all happened a year back and he was arrested when he re-entered the country last month?

Epic cock-up somewhere along the line.

PLC=Public Limited Company, or, in this case Dubai as a corporate entity, also known as Dubai Inc.

That's a strong possibility, there are some places in England that are reluctant to accept Scottish currency, getting better now but at one time it was a real PITA, go on holiday to Scotland, either ensure you spent the Scottish notes before returning or you had to take them into a bank.

Just for the sake of accuracy, he'll be detained (or was) in RAK, not Dubai, but the Dubai bashing fail will always treat Dubai as a Country.

Had that issue in the past. Flew from Scotland to Prague and tried to convert Scottish pounds into the local currency and no need telling what happened (Mission - just in case you were wondering, nothing). Even had trouble in London.
