Default DEWA

I seem to remember that DEWA double their bills for the month of June, I remember when we moved two years ago the first bill was 1400 dhs (for June) then 700 approx after that. Been stung again. 2900 dhs this month, done no more washing or cooking than usual. All AC's switched off upstairs during the day and only one on during the day downstairs.

I thought you were on a featherbed package? If I was I'd maintain the house at a steady 21oC and change my underwear three times a day.

We've not had our bill yet, is normally here by now so I guess they are busy doubling it.

this is like the 4th forum where i see people complaining about their bills doubling or even quadrupling. It should you give you a nice fuzzy feeling to think that while you are supposed to "save energy" and get lower bills, others get to wash their driveways with water everyday and keep their lights open in all 10 rooms

I haven't looked at ours yet, but I think Mr Meow mentioned Dhs 1,700 the other day. It's usually around the Dhs 1,000 mark. I don't think it's too bad (by comparison) considering we both work from home. That's for a 4 bed villa, although we do have a borehole.

I saw your FB comments BC. That stupid girl (you know, the spoilt one I can't stand) claiming it's too high and she pays only Dhs 300 for her 3 bed apartment is living in cloud cuckoo land. Apartments are always cheaper to cool. There tends to be an ambient temperature in the communal parts and not having so many outside walls keep the place cooler too.

yes

I just don't understand this bill as we haven't watered our non existent garden nor have we had the AC on excessively.

Just a thought... do DEWA actually do readings throughout the year or are they estimates followed by a reading in June?

Ethos83 is an unknown quantity at this point
Default Re: DEWA

It's about 19 degrees in southern UK at the moment. Even colder up in Edinburgh.

You're more than welcome to move back if things get a bit too...er...hot

Oddly, my DEWA bill went down. Then again, its zero for water and wastewater - I'm pretty certain that it is just an estimate of some kind.
