Got to agree with you on this one bangleman,for me he is very over rated. He needs the money though to stop his mother nicking wallets thieving pikey scum.And as for a leader I do not see any attributes in him at all,same charisma as Bryan Robson.

I put him on a par with Terry Butcher, lots of spirit and determination but not much skill or class......and a bit on the thick side.

Has anyone bought those lads from Newcastle yet, Taylor and Bassong I think they are called. Would be a better choice for City in the long run.

He has a superb positional awareness - very rarely caught out of position.....

.......... which helps him to compensate for a distinct lack of pace, and a very ponderous first touch.

England are probably better with him than without him though, which partly explains the salary thing.

Mind you, we've had generations of overrated central defenders, for some reason........... apart from Butcher, Adams, etc, there was Mark Wright, Phil Thompson, Dave Watson, Colin Todd.......

Im glad the majority of replies are positive on the fact that he is over-rated....whether 1mil is applicable or not.

I dont know what others would make of Frank Lampard but he's another 2 legger that fits the OTT list. On comparison, Gerrard out-classes FL!
