Dear Santa
Morning campers,
It's black friday tomorrow or the week today or something....which means I shall attempt to do all my UK Christmas shopping on Amazon in bed, tomorrow morning.
Whilst thinking about this dreadful time of year, I have to think about what I would like my Mummy and Sister and Daddy and others to buy me. Frankly, I don't really want or need anything, I fancy a new golf bag to match my clubs and mine's a bit tired and I wouldn't drop 1000+ dizzers on it normally, so I've gone with that. Something I'll appreciate and wouldn't normally buy myself, that everyone can chip in for easily and I can buy locally. How nice am I?
It begs the question though, what are you lot hoping Santa deposits in your hands next month?

Dear Santa:
A fondue set.
Someone to level some ground and put up a retaining wall before bluddy Christmas.
A white Christmas

Re: Dear Santa
I'm more of a giver than a receiver. I have no wants or needs so really don't care what I get for christmas. I actually prefer nothing to sometime crap that was without thought.
If pushed, I'd ask for some roller skates.

SCAMPY, a little off topic but since you are a golfer....did you check out the Emirates Golf Club Mannequin Challenge? Were you in it by any chance?

Re: Dear Santa
Nothing.
Just good times with the important people in my life.
I'll buy my mum and sister something small and nice, a bottle of their favourite perfume or a scarf from Liberty's, something like that. And some toys for the nephews (kiddies' toys are very cheap, even good quality ones).
The old man gives me a cheque and I get him and the bro-in-law a bottle of good wine or whisky and we're sorted.
These days all us adults get a lot more pleasure out of watching the kiddies open their gifts than exchanging gifts among each other.

A 1966 Port. And a Leica, just a modest one.
I really enjoy giving more than receiving (except if its a Leica). Amazon Prime is really good (except for their inability to follow delivery instructions).

The cheque is not insubstantial.....
It always goes straight to my investments. He knows it, I know it. He does the same for my sister.

Re: Dear Santa
One year you should do something crazy with the cash. Like rent a boat and take them on a cruise along the med.

Silk rope, so difficult to get here - even in DragonMart (it snaps too easily), and they confiscate it at the airports.

Re: Dear Santa
That's not who my father is.
He is a generous man who has treated his family well, but he is not the kind of person go for splurge purchases or crazy stuff. I like him very much and I don't need anything else from him.
I don't know why I'm feeling a bit sensitive about this but you have no business criticising my father without knowing him. He's a fantastic man.

I just like to see surprises and big red boxes under the tree. Even if I don't have any myself

Re: Dear Santa
I like giving thoughtful presents too, I'm not purely selfish.
I'm like you - nothing I'm desperately in need of that I don't just go and buy myself. The golf bag is something I fancy so hopefully Santa thinks I've been good.
Dad never used to get us anything, just threw some cash for us to buy something. Nowadays he thinks more and does the cash, but discusses the cash with an idea in mind - my birthday this year he suggested something specific for the apartment that I'd mentioned and gave me the cash to buy that specific thing. Worked well.
Good, but not great.
