Strange question, I know, but...

Before going and asking shipping companies, can anyone give me a ball park cost for shipping 1 x 2 seater, 1 x 3 seater sofa and 1x foot stool to the UAE from UK?

As its not going to fill a container I just want to have some estimate in mind before any companies feed me BS answers.

We bought them in the UK as were planning a return this year, but due to a change of plan will be here for another 1+ years now and would rather sit on the sofas here than have them sit in my parents garage!

the shipping company we used went by cubic meter... a sofa or single bed is apparently about 1 cubic meter's worth, and priced at around £300-400/m3 if my memory serves (which it rarely does these days).

We didn't ship any of our furniture for the reasons Bison has kindly stated above. Bought new over here with the relocation allowance. It's more or less on a par with prices in the UK.

Will have tp look into it further , as I recall a 20 foot container being around 1500 GBP so figured this would not be as much as that

yeah, we were surprised at how much a cubic meter actually represents: our 17 removals boxes and some golf clubs were about 1.5 cubic meters.

Based on the "single bed is 1" I'd guesstimate that your sofa set would represent between 2 and 3 cubic meters, so lets say between £500-900?

Yes, that's what I worked out from your other post - going to have to call about.

A 20 foot container costs around 1500 quid, and they are around 36m3... that works out at about 40 quid/m3. Assuming the 300/m3, a 20 foot container would be nearly 11k GBP - perhaps discount for containers rather than pallets etc

May try and see about filling some space on a not full container!

you need to contact a freight forwarder to LCL's (Less than Container Loads).

Container Lines are in deep doodoo at the moment so prices should be very negotiable.
