Fly home on 23rd, so everything will be sorted by the time I arrive. Golf on 24th, weather permitting (so unlikely). My mother (94) will probably come for Xmas dinner, which will be a challenge, but the turkey, Christmas pud and brandy butter, all the trimmings and champagne (Prosecco for SWMBO, she prefers it) will ease things. All 3 sprogs (now all working) will be there. A day's shooting (clays) followed by a huge piss-up with disparate mates will be a welcome break. Plus test drive in a new S3 (just toying with the idea), boiler replacement estimates, SWMBO's tax return, fire-up new iPhone 7, build - use - disassemble PowerTec home gym in the garage, NYE sophisticated dinner out with a few friends, back here early in the New Year.

As all of my grown ups kids live here, we shall be doing the traditional thing around my oldest sons BBQ/Smoker. He's a pretty decent cook and has convinced me that he will do something amazing with the Turkey for lunch.

As me and Mrs Shed are getting on (slightly) its nice to let the kids run around getting us drinks and stuff while we slouch in the best armchairs ruling the roost and choosing the Xmas TV/Music/Games :-)

I've had two (at the same time) - best dogs ever. Now have a cockerpoo and a frenchie bag dog. The cockerpoo is bat shit crazy like the springers were.

I've had 4 over the years mate , great dogs but need a lot of time and discipline as they're full on mental.

As soon as a pack this shit in and move on i'd get a couple more . No place for a gun dog out here. Springers need to be worked hard everyday and you need the time .

Surprisingly, No I didn't. She was about 18 years younger, and thicker than she looked. she liked me and gave me the following (I think) compliment... "oh, you don't look like the sort of bloke that carries a brief case..."
