Can you treat a cat like a dog.......
Guys,
Im on and off here today but here is the thing...
Im a dog person, i have three at home that my mam has adopted because im over here. I am truely missing them more than anything else, had dogs all my life!
So i live in a compound and my neighbours have cats, all of which are canny. One is wild and lives outside and the other neighbour keeps hers in-doors except for letting them out twice a day!
Now im not exactly a cat person and people i have spoken with says you can treat them exactly like you would a dog....
Would you tap them on the nose for being naughty, or give them wrong for peeing on your floor and not in their tray? Dogs you can tell when they are happy, sad, angry..... cats i wouldnt even know where to start!
Obviously i have no intentions of putting a lead on it and taking it for a walk!
Cats seem to be more self sufficient and seem to take care of themselves more or less...

depends on the cat really, I have three siamese and I would say yes you can treat them like a dog. Radley regularly gets a tap on the nose for being an annoying little trouble maker

...an old saying "you own a dog but have a cat"
When you call a dog it comes to you, when you call a cat it's indifferent and doesn't give a toss...unless you're in the kitchen around milk or food, then it just gets in your way while it arches its back and rubs against your legs !

One of my mates took in a stray cat..............
Hadn't any cat food in the house but had dog food (he already had a dog, obviously!)......
So he started feeding it dog food, and called it Rover..........
Treats them as equals - and they behave in eerily similar fashion.........
