Brunches are back!
Is this true?
Heads up: The dry night in Dubai this week has just changed
Quote:
The dry period in Dubai will last for one full day, and it’s just changed dates…
Islamic New Year falls this week, and with it typically comes another public holiday.
But remember this also means that there is a dry night in the UAE.
This was originally confirmed for Thursday September 21, but we’ve just had word from multiple outlets that the dry night has now changed to Wednesday September 20, to follow the same timing as Abu Dhabi.
So it looks like the dry night will now begin from sunset on Wednesday September 20 and will last until sunset on Thursday September 21. So actually the dry night is a dry day in the emirate.
So brunch fans, it looks like your Friday plans are back on.

Re: Brunches are back!
We get no holidays in Qatar
I'm glad the UAE has its priorities straight.

How a company can be run like this is beyond me, let alone a whole country - and I don't just mean the dry day, but holidays etc. too.

They told me this when I tried booking the bubbalicious brunch at the Westin... I'm going to reconfirm with them now
EDIT: Above is true!

Re: Brunches are back!
Dry night was confirmed for Thur / Fri, then changed and it's' not Wed / Thur.
God I love this place, why ruin a weekend eh?

A day off the working week, so people will spend. Robbing Peter to pay Paul?

Re: Brunches are back!
why do 'dry' nights effect residents? surely if you drink you would have some drink at home.

What if you wanted to go for a nice dinner?
What if you wanted to go for drinks with friends to a bar?
What if you wanted to go hunting for a mate?
What if you didn't want to drink at home?
What if you'd run out of the good stuff and only had Bacardi Apple left at home?
What if Mission, what if.

Re: Brunches are back!
Haven't had a brunch for 4 1/2 years, could really do with one
Out for beer n pizza tonight, though, in one of only 4 licensed places in a city the size of Bradford. It's a shit bar, but beer is beer and pizza is pizza. (And if we want to go we have to make that decision at least an hour before finishing work, otherwise we can't get a driver.)
Weather's good, though.

I've only done 2 since moving here. Feel like sh*t after one though, like a gluttonous mess...
