Default Any employment?

We have very sadly had to let one of our office guys go. He is a good friend to me (both at and outside the office) and I thought I'd see if anyone here can help.

He is a very helpful guy, great english, smart, clean, can drive, and has an IT degree. I trust him totally and he would often lend him my cars when I travel for extended periods.

Despite the fact that we used him pretty much as an office boy, he also coordinated and managed most of the office refit and did a lot of the IT cabling work himself.

Any help in finding him something would be very much appreciated.

The gravy train is slowly derailing.

I am still sipping my champagne at the back while the front carriages crash, don't worry.

When I was in Cairo with my current crowd, they decided one department was surplus to requirements but phrased it as 'too costly'. They were ****ing useless to be fair, lots of old guys on big salaries.
So every couple of weeks the main guys used to sit down and see where they could cut costs, I used to attend sometimes (under the guise of my department offering potential 'synergies'). Anyhow it all started like that, a few IT guys got let go, then some junior engineers, a few middle managers etc until eventually it was basically just the guys in the room left.

In a Sun Tzu moment of brilliance head office then dumped a huge work load on these guys out of nowhere. Which of course they couldn't do, and effectively closed themselves.
It was fascinating to watch from the outside.
