I was in Petra (Jordan) the weekend before last - it snowed, the route I was going to take to the Dead Sea was blocked!

Some interesting stuff in there.
The concept of Brunch still mystifies people in the UK..."so you pay 30-100+ quid and can eat and drink all you want for 4hours?"

I always was under the impression that Libya was a 'dry' country, like Saudi. Perhaps the brewery is post-Ghadaffi?

No brainer and there are many deals from Groupon, Cobone, Hit the Deals etc. I'm out every Thursday and/or Friday on a deal or just a good value brunch like Le Meridian Village Terrace for 219 Dhm.
Except this week because I'm signed off with tonsilitis, sigh! By Friday I'll be climbing the walls.

I do agree wholeheartedly though. I got charged GBP5.40 for a pint in Aberdeen a couple of weeks ago, I almost had a stroke.

I went to a pub in Southampton when I was back, a nice one, but a pub all the same. Pint of ale was close to a fiver.

I drove on the unpaved mountain route from Petra to Dead Sea Highway last year. In a fully laden hire Hyundai. Didn't see a single soul on the route. Quite scarey.
