UK & Tax
Hi everyone
My family and I are researching moving back to the UK - we have been in Canada since 2013. We had nothing to sell when we moved having just got married so we literally packed up and left!! (crazy) now 2 kids later and some money made from selling our home we are thinking of heading back.
will we have to pay tax when we come into the country? on any of our earniings or property sale? (our own home not a rental) we have paid tax every year in canada.
thanks in advance
Christine

Re: UK & Tax
You only have to pay Canada capital gains tax on leaving if you have either second property or investments. You must advise them that you are leaving and no longer residence. If you get income from Canada as in a pension it will be taxed at source.
