Tim's in Glasgow, will it work - well, Tim's top dogs are no fools when it comes to doing market research surveillance.

My preference is tea not coffee, so I wouldn't know if Tim Horton's, Starbucks, Second cup, McD's, Timothy's world or costa coffee are any different.

As a child living in the UK I tasted 'Camp coffee' & it was not till I came to Canada that I had ever heard of, smelled or seen peculated coffee - of course that was in the dark ages
when exactly did you last live in the UK?

No-one, however dark their age, has ever had peculated coffee. Peculate means to steal or embezzle (public) funds.

OTOH, I had a coffee percolator in my room at University in 1969. Dead trendy, I was.

Was it electric, or one of those enamelled stove-top ones from Habitat?

There was a time when Nescafe was considered the height of elegance and posh ! Things change. Perhaps Glaswegians will learn to drink Canadian coffee !

If Tim Hortons make Buckfast- or Tennants-flavoured coffee, they might.

In fact as I see it as anyone 'holding a Tim's coffee' is a reason for the not so distinguishing Canadian to speak to the person next to them, otherwise folks (adults) at a child's hockey/footy/rugby/gym/swim etc practice would stay silent

The funny thing is, tho, that Tim's isn't a Canadian-owned company any more.

The Tim's part of RBI is headquartered in Oakville. RBI is jointly owned by 3G Capital (Brazilian investment company) and Berkshire Hathaway (American conglomerate).

It appears that Tim Hortons is doing very well in Glasgow.

The city's second Tim Hortons at Glasgow's Silverburn Shopping Centre will open this week.

Another will be open in Ayr soon.

In his letter to the COO of Tim Horton's the MP writes, "Given Canada's record as a bulwark of human rights and progressive values in North America..." LOL

The Tim Horton's near me is a depressing eating experience - slightly better than a soup kitchen. Also, there have been a lot of menu changes and I was told a lot of their food isn't prepared on site but is frozen.
