Smile Ten Years Absence

Hello,

This is a great site, and I've already found a lot of useful information here. I'm a UK citizen that has lived in the USA for over ten years. I haven't even been back for a holiday in all that time, but I'm going to be moving back probably rely next year. Like I say, I'm not naive and know how much things have changed, but I'd love to hear from anyone that done a similar move recently and discover what were the most challenging practical aspects they discovered. I'm presuming my SSN will still work, and that my driver's license will be dead, but what there anything you discovered that you wish you had thought of before? Many thanks in advance

Your driving licence won't be 'dead'. You may need to renew it.

+1 to what Editha says.

Be aware that you may be required to pay 6 months' rent upfront on moving back, if you need to rent.

Car insurance: check if your US history will be accepted, otherwise it might be expensive.
