Default Short term lets in July ??

We will need to rent a self-catering short-term two-bedroom property on our return to the UK in July.

We would like to be in, or next to, one of the home counties as it will be a base for job hunting.

It can be in a rural area, so long as there is a reasonable sized town not too far away for groceries etc.

There are lots (of expensive holiday ones) online but I wondered if any BE's have personal experience and can suggest any particularly good/reasonable ones?

All advice gratefully received.

Thanks for your reply.

We've narrowed our temporary search down to Surrey, Kent, Oxfordshire, Berkshire and Hampshire. (We probably need a lottery win.)

We're looking for something for about a month, unfortunately at the peak holiday season due to husbands work contract in Australia up to July.

Cost wise, I guess we're looking for the best price possible for something that will accommodate the three of us (me, husband and teenager).

off top of my head, universities will let out apartments during summer, hotels that are self-catering (have kitchen, all appliances etc) and companies that specialize in corporate housing. I know you'll get something but will look around..

Try www.airbnb.com for all kinds of accommodation (apartments, cottages, rooms etc.)

Hi Brissybee

I posted on another thread about the forum laymyhat. They are a nice group of holiday home owners, some of whom do short term lets.

www.laymyhat.com

I have a UK holiday let myself but it is already booked for July. We advertise through the agency sykes who are extremely helpful. Maybe you could also try their website too

Good luck
