Wonderful pictures. UK towns have so much character that i hard to find anywhere else, you have captured this character beautifully.

Brilliant photos, thanks. Definitely looks like a livable city. Lots of interesting looking cafés and pubs. I never knew Carlisle was a cathedral city.

Off to rightmove, to see what's for sale there!

The cathedral has a spectacular ceiling. I'll take some pics next week and add them to that thread.

Yes it's pretty affordable there, although we're planning on living in Hexham about 30 miles to the east.

Thanks. I visited Hexham last year after a very nice stay in Langley Castle. Nice area.

Looks pretty much like it did when we left there in 2006! I used to love Watt's coffee shop, and that Caffeine Rush coffee cart at the station hasn't changed...
