Default Glad to be back!

Hi group,

I had forgotten about this forum. I used to be a regular a few years ago, when I was still living in the US. I arrived back in the UK in January, after 12 years of living in America. The decision to return was absolutely the right one for me personally. I wasn't happy in the US and it simply wasn't working for me. I had virtually no friends, the work/life balance was all out of whack and as a transgender female, I had far fewer rights and was subjected to more discrimination.

I am now keen to connect with other ex-expats in a similar situation. The country has changed quite a bit since I left, some for the better (restaurant choices, diversity, shift in booze culture) but some changes are for the worse (more vulture capitalism, angrier drivers, crazy development in London).

If you can get past the fact that I am transgender, I am very normal/boring. Are there meetup groups for people in our situation? I have looked on Facebook and can't find anything along those lines.

Thanks for reading and p.s. don't hate me or judge me.

Skadi - congrats on moving back, we will be landing ourselves in a few months time, glad it is working out for you. I am not transgender, but would never judge anyone on that basis.

I have used meetup.com for other social groups though and a quick search shows there is a transgender group in London - link above

good luck!
