I know what you mean. I got a real shock when I tried to replace my Cuisinart food processer after I moved back.
In answer to your question, probably not. Many electronics these days ie computers, laptop power supply packs etc. can handle 120 - 240v but I doubt it applies to food mixers. The voltage range should be printed somewhere on the unit or the owner's manual should tell you in the specifications section. You may choose to bring your mixer with you and get a voltage transformer - I've never used one myself; some people swear by them but others aren't that keen.

No, it will just shorten the life of the engine if you use a transformer.
When I was moving over to Canada I openly pondered about taking my kitchenaid on a Facebook post. A friend picked up on it who knew somebody who had a U.S. Kitchenaid bought as a wedding present- never used in the UK because of the voltage. Apparently her sister bought it not realising. We swapped- She had my slightly more used Kitchenaid, I shipped her U.S. one over to Canada. Turns out this girl was my husband's GP trainee in the last year and we had gone to her evening party... Say what you will about FB but it can be dam handy sometimes!

Costco in the UK has a very similar product, albeit not manufactured by Kitchen Aid, but with all the consumer protection and benefits that Costco offers:
Costco UK - Swan Retro Stand Mixer in Cream
If you are currently a member of Costco your membership is valid worldwide in all their warehouses. If you're not a member, you can purchase online and pay a 5% premium.
Btw if you are a member and too far away from a UK store once you move back there, you can still buy online; you pay the 5% premium but you can reclaim it back according to their website.
My google search did come up with a Kitchen Aid stand mixer but it states Out of Stock and I don't know if this means it is discontinued...best to contact them:
Costco UK - KitchenAid 4.28L Classic Stand Mixer White
Btw; a fabulous chain of kitchen equipment stores in the UK is Lakeland...I love browsing in their stores and often find small gadgets to pop in my suitcase on trips home I went on their mailing list and they send out their catalogues to me in Switzerland and will ship overseas, although I don't have things sent here as the Swiss impose heavy customs fees on imports.
They have brilliant customer service on a par with John Lewis. One of their shop assistants was telling me last Summer about an old kettle which a man returned to their shop. It looked like it had never been cleaned or descaled and had been discontinued by Lakeland 12 years before. They exchanged it for another kettle with no questions asked
Lakeland, the home of creative kitchenware
In the UK the equivalent of Kitchen Aid for popularity is the Kenwood Chef, to the best of my knowledge:

Anything that you want to take will work with an up/down converter. This is not an adapter plug, it's a voltage converter. You can buy them from specialist electrical shops for about $50, but make sure you state the wattage you require.
