Credit Cards
I have been wondering about our Aussie credit cards. We currently have a Virgin and Citibank card. When we move back does anyone know if they would allow us to transfer them into their UK operations or would we have to hang onto the Aussie ones for a while until we build up a new credit rating over there?
Has anyone done this?

Yes, i could couldnt i? (i probably will too nearer the time)
And i guess a lot of the other subjects and queries posted on here could fall into the same bracket too. But isn't the whole point of this forum to discuss and debate each others experiences, thereby getting a broad spectrum of ideas and answers?

On the other hand, we have found that American Express has been an absolute godsend during our two international moves; from the UK to Singapore and from Singapore to the USA. They will let you open a new Amex account in the new country you're moving to without reservation - but you must do it before closing your current Amex account down.
I don't know how soon you are planning on moving to Blighty but if you don't have an Amex card right now, it might be a good idea to open one asap and it will stand you in good stead when you do relocate.

We did this the other way around...kept my husbands MBNA card and I got one too before we moved to Oz. Used it there and paid bills online from UK bank account. When we came back to Uk Westpac didn't mind, so we kept that account open til rates were in our favour for money transfer.
