Started watching but didn't make it through the first episode. Ditto with Banished. We did finally finish House of Cards though.

Re: Broadchurch and Other UK TV Programs
I love some of the best British drama, but I also love the general interest programmes that air in the UK. They are generally 20-30 mins long, depending upon the channel. 'Coast' was one that I bought on dvd when I lived in Canada. It incorporated history, geography and nature etc into the programme and now I thoroughly enjoy being able to watch such programmes on tap.
The most recent one (that I havent seen yet) is 'Barging Around Britain' with John Sergeant. All about the canal waterways of Britain.

Yes I remember it well! I loved it!! I believe Robin Ellis played the part of Ross Poldark, but I cannot remember the names of the other actors. It was a really good television series (based on the Poldark books by Winston Graham - at least I think that is the author's name) Of course, I absolutely love Cornwall. In fact, I would say it is my favorite part of England. When I lived in Cheshire we used to go to Cornwall on vacation - many happy memories!!! Now I love to watch Doc Martin (love the show and the Cornish scenery).

There has been loads of promotion/publicity about the new show and it made me feel quite old when the writer/actors etc said that they did not remember the original series and have chosen not to watch it now so as not to be influenced by that production
