Re: Broadchurch and Other UK TV Programs
This is a Christmas special. Not sure if/when a new series is coming to our screens. Looking forwards to it myself - but then I enjoyed the last series as well

To Walk Invisible about the Bronte sisters is worth a watch. Written by Sally Wainwright of Happy Valley and Last Tango in Halifax fame. BBC iplayer.

It's been mentioned before and that's probably why I downloaded it way back in May 2015. I finally started watching The Game on Friday night. Really good.

Admittedly it was a bit hit or miss at times. There was perhaps too much emphasis on the brother's life, for example. I watched a short interview with Wainwright beforehand, and I think that helped frame the drama a bit better. She said her main aim was to show where these women came from. It's in this link as well as a few other things.

I enjoyed To Walk Invisible, although the dialogue seemed a bit too modern in places.
For me the highlight of Christmas viewing was Alan Bennett's Diaries.

New programmes last night, Silent Witness back for another series, and The Halcyon, a new period drama set during WW2, recorded both but not watched either yet.

We watched the archaeology programme Britain's Ancient Capital, which is about the stone-age remains on Orkney. It was fascinating.

OK, now watched both, seem very promising, SW is a two part series shown on successive nights, there will be 3 or 4 weeks based on previous series. The Halcyon ISN'T Downton, but has a good selection of characters.
