BB - you seem to live the most enchanted life. You see monkeys I have never clapped eyes on and you get escorted in style to see the VIP's on arrival from Thailand. What am I doing wrong?

Hehe...no, that was some years ago. We were driving back n forth to Thailand when we couldn't shift our house in Phuket. It sold eventually, thank God.

Don't go anywhere much these days I'm afraid

Ah...for monkeys you need to check out the Botanic Garden. Usually tons of macaque monkeys. You need to hunt around for the dusky-leaf monkeys.

Oops..off topic

That visa can still be presented, in addition to the new passport, when entering the country relevant to the visa.
I did the same when later entering Malaysia with the unexpired MM2H visa in the old passport, but I went to Putrajaya on my trip and had the visa transferred, and extended, to fit the expiry date of the new passport.
It took about a half hour to do that, very fast and easy, just paid for the additional years for the annual MM2H fee...and a small transfer fee. I'd suggest transferring as it simplifies travel but.... you can do that at your convenience.
Hi Davita
Thanks. It sums up what I needed to know. As long as I can enter Malaysia with the MM2H visa in my old passport I am fine as I intend to Visit Putrajaya and get the visa transferred to my new passport.
The Indian embassy here in the UAE returns the old booklet with a cancelled stamp across my mug and the facing page but does not cut up the corners.
I am still using the old US visa in my cancelled passport while entering the US without a problem
cheers
Raj

Just wanted to confirm Raj as I have my old/new passports in hand.
We entered Malaysia, from Bali, in Jul 2012 on a new passport with the MM2H visa in the old. They stamped our new passport for 30 days as Special and also a seperate stamp said 'to report to Immigration Office for visa cleaarance" and handwritten HQ Putrajaya.
We did that the next morning and left for Bali that afternoon...picking up a couple of duty-free litres on the way.

OK. Got that
I guess I will have to plan to stay and get the visa transferred into the new passport on my next visit as it looks like they allow a person in one time as a special case on the old passport.
