MM2H discounts
Hi everyone
I noticed reference to discounts for Penang Hill in an old thread on here. Well, I took two foreign visitors there a few weeks ago and was shocked when I saw the price. More so when I too had to pay the full price, despite producing my MM2H pass. I will not be going up there again. Oh....and no discount at Taiping Zoo either.
This country is becoming a bit on the expensive side!

Re: MM2H discounts
Can't remember - sorry, but it was a hell of a lot more than what the locals pay. It's no great loss, as apart from the view (if you manage to be there on a clear day) there's nothing up there apart from stalls selling food and tourist tat at inflated prices.

Yes, so disappointing that Malaysia now also joins the Foreigner-Rip-off-Community. I hope we really can get MyKads, otherwise I will skip many of this "attractions" in the future.

Re: MM2H discounts
It just so happens that I phoned Penang Hill a few days ago and they told me that MM2H participants pay the Malaysian citizen rate, not the foreigner rate. So either the policy has changed in the last few weeks or the charge depends on who you talk to at Penang Hill.

MM2H used to get the local rate then things changed when they installed the new turnstiles and the discount was discontinued. At least it was at the ticketing counter.
