Hi,

I've recently received the conditional approval letter and planning to go to Malaysia soon to complete the rest of the process. As my current passport will be expiring soon, I am planning to get a new passport before I go to Malaysia.

Does anyone know whether it is ok to use a new passport for the rest of the process? If so, are there any additional documents to bring with me?

I tried to call MM2H office many times throughout the day staring from 8am Malaysia time. But it seems it's very difficult to get through to them. Also not getting email replies from them too.. So hopefully there's someone who can share his/her experiences on this.

I assume that you submitted a copy of your current (= soon to be "old/expired") passport during the initial phase? In that case would it be best to bring both passports when you go there. Disclaimer: I don't have first-hand experience of doing this myself.

Thanks SushiFan. I've just called the immigration unit of MM2H instead. It was easy to get through to them. They said I need to go to the immigration unit of MM2H first to get my conditional approval letter changed with a new passport number then do the rest.

Thought I share this here for any case other people also have this situation.
