Default Japan/UK dual citizenship

Hi,

I have Japan/UK dual citizenship and live in the U.K. I have been using UK pasport to exit and enter UK and JP passport to enter and exit Japan. I need to renew my JP passport next year and realised I haven't got any immigration stamps rather than JP ones which I'm sure will raise questions when renewing. Is it possible to present both UK and JP passport when entering the UK and request a stamp on my JP passport? If this isn't possible, how do I go about getting JP passport renewed without raising a suspicion?

I believe uk immigration will only look at one passport, and apply the rules pertaining to it. Im assuming a japanese person can possibly just get a visa on arrival for a holiday of 3cor 6 months, but they would i suspect want you to use your uk docs so they will never have to chase you to leave.

Fortunately when you leave the uk on a uk passport nobody stamps or looks at anything, apart from the airline covering their a55es in case you have a problem but that may change. Im assumibg a uk person also gets a simple tourist visa.

As to your japanese renewal why would they care where you have been? So long as japan allows one to be a dual national they will have loads of this, if not, your problem...

Hi,
Thanks for your comment. It's not where I've been but how I got into the UK that they want to know as Japan doesn't allow dual nationality over certain age....
