Hi if you don't get a visa for France, it is possible you don't get a visa for the
rest of the EC. normally if you have a visa for one off the EC countrys you can
travel between those country's without extra visa. but in your case ?????? Walter

I think a student visa is a little different. You could be refused a student visa in
France because you're not enrolled in an acceptable French school, while the
situation could be entirely different in Germany.

I think you have to be accepted as a student by a school before even requesting the
visa. At least, when my daughter had a student visa for Italy, she had to show proof
that she had enrolled and paid her tuition before she was granted the visa.

From the general nature of the questions, I have a feeling that our OP hasn't
progressed this far with his study plans.

Not the EC, but Schengen. Ireland is not part of the Schengen area and does not share
visas with France, Germany, et al.

It would depend on why he was refused, and for what kind of visa. If it's a security
problem, he can probably forget it. If its a bureaucratic thing, he might be OK.
