Suggestions please re parents and Skype
Hi all, hopefully some of you may be able to help here. In June I am visiting my parents in Ireland. I live in Australia and my parents are 80. They are not at all tech savvy and I am not too much better.....hence this question.
Basically, while I am over I would like to get whatever is necessary to enable my parents and I to be able to Skype eachother. Just need ideas and thoughts.
They have a landline but no internet. They will not be interested in doing anything other than Skype.
I am thinking of a basic tablet or notebook. I see a lot of elderly people in hospital using tablets so assume they are user friendly. I have a notebook myself so am unfamiliar with tablets. They need the easiest and simplest equipment to operate and without a contract.
Is it possible to just get some sort of internet only to use on one of these things? Also, does Skype use up much GB's? If for example you have a video chat for an hour, does it use up much? Also, does it matter who Skype's who?......I feel that will be a laugh out loud question to those tech savvy people out there.
Thank you in advance for any advice
