Default SS route for dependent parent via Ireland

Dear all,

I am a new member to this group. Very interesting and useful discussions in this forum! I understand some of you have gone through SS route successfully in the past! I applied for Accompany EU visa for my dependent mother who is currently in India. I am planning to move to Ireland from UK to seek employment. It is more than 8 months and she has not received any decision. We sent several reminders, but they say that they have a huge backlog! Is anybody in similar situation? I am not sure what to do as Article 50 is going to be triggered soon. I appreciate some advise. Many thanks.

kind regards,

NCSC

I suggest you get an employment in Ireland and use the join the EU family member visa, probably that is very quick I suppose. The processing time was showing close to 2 weeks if I'm not wrong.

If anyone else have more information please share..

The OP won't be able to apply for a dependent EEA Family Permit until he has been in Ireland for several months, has full employment and can show that he has moved his center of life to Ireland, and not just to get around UK Immigration rules.

Several forums have reported denials recently since the tightening up of the SS rules and both Ireland and the UK getting 'wise' to this loophole
