I adore Italy, especially the food, but i cant get over the pasta consumption every single day. Do they ever get sick of it!

Well thats like asking if the Irish ever get fed up with potatoes with pasta its served in lots of different ways with different sauces. And then thats the second course the pasta I mean its usually followed by meat fish or chicken with salad of veg.

When my husband came to Ireland he asked why the menu was so:-

Lasagne and CHIPS

Steak and CHIPS Hamburger and CHIPS Sausage and CHIPS

Childrens Special CHICKEN NUGGETS AND CHIPS ETC ETC couldn't understand why children must eat different from adults.

And yes my OH laughs when he see lasagne and chips and the biggest one he finds hilarious is curry sauce and chips

Lucky you can get home in 2.5 hours though hey! That's a bonus

For me its 7 hour flight to Dublin and 4 hours in the car. Also the ever rising flight costs. I was home in Feb and the whole trip cost me around 3000 euros, between flights, car hire, food, going out and of course Dunnes stores!

You could try somewhere other than the chipper when he goes over there!

I do realise that pasta is served in different ways, its still pasta. I'd find eating mash or roast spuds every night a tad strange enall. I meant they dont seem to eat, indian, thai, greek etc... you dont see many foreign restaurants.

(having said that ive just had a lovely jacket potato )

Holy crap I stand corrected I remember pricing a flight a few years ago from Montreal to New York and it was $900. Really looking forward to being able to afford a few trips to more exotic places that Scarborough (Ontario that is).

Ive been to three Scarborough's and TO's one was the worst!

Its the only thing thats kept us going while back in London. Being able to leave work and 2 or 3 hours later be sitting outside a bar, in a typical European square, in Amsterdam or Paris is wonderful. Mind you our carbon footprint is pretty bad. Dont drive a car and recycle everything but i've had 44 flights in 4 years!
