Default becarefull diving with subway watersports in Roatan !

Hello,

I want to share my experience divign with Subway Watersports in
Barefoot Cay Marina

I dive with them past July 16th 2007

they are the most expensive dive center in ROATAN !

each dive 30 dollars which seams not so bad, but listen to this BC
and Regulator rental 8$ each item per dive ! not per day ! its a rip
off ! and the nicest part of course the guy didnt tell us anything
before getting there, also very unfriendly person !

The average rental of equipment on the island is US$10 per day not per
dive !

I most recognize the DM that guide us a local person was very kind.

their dive center there is a pair of containers !

not even cold water on the dive boat !

being the most expensive dive center in Roatan he also choose the day
we could dive ! we could choose either the day or the time.

Its not true all they try to say that they are very friendly.

oh yes first time it ever happens to me he also wanted to get paid
fully before boarding the boat, before even knowing if the boat will
start !

and off course not receipt at all of all this !

becarefull all of you out there, I recommend avoiding these guys

take care and enjoy diving

Mario

I'm sorry you had a bad experience with them. I've always heard wonderful
things about this operation.

Unfortunately, most all of the dive shops on the island charge $30/dive,
when doing one or two dives only. Rates drop as your number of dives
increase.

Within my experience, it is the norm on Roatan for the boats NOT to
supply/carry water, unlike boats in Belize, for example. On Roatan, I've
always had to take my own water on board. This may be different at
dedicated dive resorts like Cocoview or Bay Islands Beach Resort. I've only
done a couple of dives with those resorts and can't recall if they supplied
water on the boat or not.

That you had to pay in advance is very odd. Were you off of a cruise ship?

I didn't understand your reference to the dive shop being only two
containers. I will tell you this though, most of the dive shops I've
experienced in West End, Roatan aren't as big as that. :^)

Yes, both do. Often they have a bit of fruit, as well.

Oh ya!! Now I remember, Cocoview had a nice little spread on the boat,
didn't they?
