Villers Timeline Question - DCF

These are a 'timeline' question:
1. My husband had his medical on 12th July but for personal reasons we only posted the BS230 AND DS2001 forms on 30th July. We have still not got an interview letter.
My husband now has an interview with a company in atlanta that are willing to hire hin asap and are keen on the outcome of his visa intreview.

Is it possible to write to the embassy to give my husband a date soonest? and will they do it?

2. also do i get the impresion that when you have your medical long before you send in your ds230 and ds2001 forms you tend to get a much sooner interview date?
please advise

Yes, it's possible to request a sooner date. I'm sure the consulate will try to comply, but of course there are no guarantees. You can ask to be given a cancellation date as well (to fill in the spot someone else cancelled).

There's no way of knowing.

It's only been a week. Mine took 2 or 3 weeks, with an interview date a further 6 weeks away

You can certainly write and ask. It's worth a try. I hear that they try to be as accommodating as possible.

Since the visa expires 6 months from the date of the medical, I guess it's possible that if you waited a long time to send in the DS230 and DS2001 they would schedule an interview date quickly to give you time to use the visa. Then again, they might not. Either way, I don't think 2 weeks between the medical and sending in the forms counts as a long time.

Contrary to what I have read on this forum, my husband was given the following e-mail address([email protected]) but no code. The chap who spoke to me said that that with this e-mail address you need no code and just tell them what you wanna say. I am a bit skeptical . Can someone confirm if the e-mail address you are given for rescheduling the interview is [email protected]. and does is it require a code or not?

The email looks valid to me (as in, I've seen it posted around here before). Whether it needs a code or not, I don't know for sure. Try sending the email and see if you get that "will be deleted" response.

My husband sent the e-mail to [email protected] yesterday and up till now he has not heard anythingback - He did not get the 'will be deleted response'.

We are regretting for not sending the froms ds230&2001 Sooner. Yet again read on this blog(by jeff) that if you had the medical first and waited long after that before sending the applications, your interview appointment date could take forever.

Hmmm

This web site is not a blog, and which "jeff" are you referring to?

Hi there,

Just wanted to let you know that one time I was given the [email protected] email address to use but heard absolutely nothing back.

The next time I called, I was given a different email address to use which was "[email protected]" and immediately got an automated "thanks for your email etc" response, then an answer to my query a few days later... this makes me think that the first one is not valid.

On both occasions I was given a code to put in the subject box, but its not much use if nobody receives the mail??

Many thanks Alison and Congratulations on the approval of your visa. Hope the interview was not too tough.

Hi,

I called last week and was given the [email protected] address (and told there was no need for a code). I've heard nothing at all.

I think I'll phone back tomorrow and try and get a code for the other email address. Its so irritating that they can't be more consistent! Also, irritating that this leads to extra calls to the expensive number!

Re: Villers Timeline Question - DCF

Just imagine in the time before email and internet! People would have to write by hand and use the postal service for such things. That probably would have taken so long that no one ever got an interview date sooner than the one the consulate set for them. Even though it's frustrating, I guess we can be glad we live in an age where such things can be possible.
