Newly Self employed proof of income for Sponsorship??
Dear All,
I am now ready to apply to go to Canada with my hubby and six kiddies I'm canadian and I have applied 10 months ago for proof of their citizenship..(will they need medicals if thier certificates have not come through?) Going over the supporting documents checklist it asks for proof of my income from self employment. I have only been self employed for the past six months as prior to this I was in University! I haven't got any proof, apart from a bank account with about £200 in it..we have no savings. Is child tax credits classed as assistance from the government ??. I was also made bankrupt about 3 years ago..I was discharged early so I guess that aspect is all fine. I have a notarised letter from my Canadian father stating that he is going to help us out when we arrive with housing, transport etc and that we will be working for the family business that has a very healthy annual turnover !! And finally, I send all this off (everything on document checklist) in one big package to missauga with the completed medical form ?? Or do I wait and get asked for a medical ?? |

The letter stating your involvement in the family busines should suffice for proof of employment, especially being notarised. Yes everything goes to Mississauga, including your copy of the medical report (section 2 copy C or something) you need to do this before you send the application away. Best to do it as close as you can to sending the app as it only has validity of 1 year. |
Re: Newly Self employed proof of income for Sponsorship??
Hi there,
Sorry should have been clearer. I am applying from the UK not Canada, I'm a Canadian citizen residing in the UK for the past 18 years !! So something from the CRA or from the UK tax people is impossible a) because for the past 4 years I have been studying B) prior to that I was baby making and a kept woman !! I think I will have to wing it with a copy of my tax credit award letter stating how many hours I work, a bank statement and the letter from my father !! Best Wishes |
