AOR from London May 2010 - Progress updates

Has anyone with a MAY 2010 AOR heard anything from London?

Well there only seems to be the two of us on May 2010 AOR's! When we started this process we were hoping, somewhat naively, to be receiving our Visa's around now. We have two small Children, one of whom is Six in October. We were hoping to get her settled into a new School at the beginning of term! and not interrupt schooling mid-term.
Nine months in and still at AOR, when the whole process is advertised as 6 - 12 months. Didn't expect it to be 6 - 12 from London AOR! Hope our files are heading to the top of the pile soon! Can't imagine what it would be like to be waiting since 2007 though. They must have the patience of Saints!

Hi Mac2

You seem to be exactly one month behind us as we submitted full docs to London on 29/3/2010. We have not gone into process yet and are anxiously waiting to hear from London soon. So I suppose you can expect to wait a little bit longer still...

Thought it may help to know that you will need to pull another load of patience from your hat...I doubt whether there are more of that left in MY hat, though...

Good luck!

Thanks Cherry Jam,
We are resigned to having to wait a little longer, but a little disappointed at the length of time moving between stages is taking. There seems to be quite a few March / April 2010 AOR's on FSW1 who have now moved through "In Process" to "Medical requests". So who knows we may both still get through before year end!

I am trying to see if there are any clues about the current processing situation regarding FSW Cat 1 job categories on the list and those whose categories which have been removed and also FSWCat2.
Would you mind saying whether your NOC is still on the list post June changes?

Thanks Helcat12,

All the best to you as well.

If you are suggesting that London might be slowing down applications from people in no longer required occupations, I wouldn't think so! If these jobs are becoming less available in Canada, then wouldn't it be sensible to process these people as soon as possible, rather than later when we may stand less chance of getting suitable employment? I think it's just luck of the draw.

I am not in any position to draw any conclusions, even if there are any to be drawn!:) I am Cat 2 and only spouse at that, so what they might be doing with Cat 1 wouldn't affect me anyway. I am just interested to see different people's timelines and their circumstances. I also know people who are Cat 1 and it is interesting to see their differing rates of progress through the process compared to people in similar positions.
Being at home in the UK while OH works in Vancouver, I have to find something to occupy my time:D

We are still in the UK and do the same as you, totally hooked on this forum! Not yet been able to work out how and when each application is selected to progress. It all seems extremely arbitrary, which is a shame as we would really like to be able to plan our lives with some knowledge of when and if things are going to be done by London. :)

Every option has pros and cons - our pros are that we don't have to worry about finding work when we get there (assuming app goes through!:fingerscrossed:) and OH will have sussed out living in B.C before we commit permanently, but the con is we have to be apart and have no idea when we might be able to be together again. OH's TWP was activated in August, so I am hoping with all my heart that our PR will be through by the time that is due to expire.
At least on Cat 1 you can get on with your lives here together:).
We all just have to wait and wonder......
