Hi

recently had a declined response for an LMO application in Ontario (GTA area), based on job not being specialized enough, although it is classified as skill level B on the NOC site. Does this mean that an AEO for the same position / person would also be declined, I am not sure exactly what criteria is classified as most important. Planning to apply for fsw , have 71 points, and job offer / arranged employment, how likely is it that AEO will be rejected?

any help would be greatly appreciated, I am helping family apply to immigrate from UK , have been here 11 years myself, but a lot of regulations seem to have changed since then.

Although there is no need for the advertising requirements with the AEO, I think that given the AEO is typically for skilled workers (rather than the semi-skilled or skilled nature of the LMO) you are unlikely to have success if you LMO was turned down.

Hi Seang,

Sorry I can't give advice on the AEO, but i'm sure someone on here will. When did the LMO application get submitted? I am currently waiting on one for Ontario.

Hi Wolstie,

The LMO was submitted Oct 7th, and got the decision on Oct 30th. It was an online submission, which is supposed to speed things up.According to the local service canada office the target is 20 working days, so this was quicker than standard

Thanks for the reply.

I am a little confused as to why the job in question is rated as NOC skill level B, which is supposedly eligible for the FSW program, yet service canada replied that it is not specialized enough.

I think that the employer will apply for the AEO anyway, as currently there is nothing to lose, does anyone out there have any experience of getting an AEO for a NOC skill level B job recently

Hi Sean,

Looks like we have really similar timelines, although mine was submitted by mail on the 30th September and assigned to an officer on 8th October. Like you said, my employer told me there is a 20 business day processing period, so i'm hoping to hear something the next few days.

Will let you know how i get on, good luck with the AEO if you go down this route.

No , I didn't realise that was an option. Obviously the emplyer needs to do this, is there a formal process, or just call up the service canada site that processed the application?

I'm not sure actually - I would assume the employer could call and ask why they have refused it on this basis as it is shown as a NOC B on the CIC website - and just see what they say. What NOC number is it?

NOC is 7245. My only concern with calling to query this is it may affect any future reapplication or AEO application, but if not, then there is nothing to lose I guess.

I would just get him to ask for a further explanation of their findings as he does not understand their reasoning. Let us know how you get on.
