How can I get the best car insurance deal?
Things are slightly different for me this time insuring my car. Single woman, huge no claims (5 years, rating 1), never had an accident etc etc.
Is there anyone who can offer a better deal for my car... currently paying 788 per year with BudgetDirect, excess is $500. Got any recommendations? |

I've always found Suncorp to offer the best deal and coverage.
http://www.suncorp.com.au for an online quote. I go out of my way to beat it each year and can't. |

I thinks its just a matter of trawling the net.
We're with www.nrma.com.au and no complaints, also heard www.aami.com.au recommended by a few. Both do on line quotes. |

Went with NRMA, came down to $366  others wanted up to $580 for same car/same postcode ( that affects your ranking ). Contents insurance with them came down from $330 to $226 and we upped the amount insured. |

Re: How can I get the best car insurance deal?
Was insured with GIO, their renewal came through and this year got around to ringing/filling internet forms. GIO online came out best (taking into account excess/cover etc), and cheaper than their renewal letter sent as an existing customer.
The online quote as far as I remember was valid for 7days, went to pay for it on the 8th day, and had to get new quote, with all the same info as before. So at a guess, getting closer to renewal date they see you as getting desperate and put the price up. BTW did you know you can get quotes from all the companies for CTP on the RTA website? |

Re: How can I get the best car insurance deal?
Try QBE - They worked out $100 cheaper than budgetdirect and about $250 cheaper than the next best for us...
Having said that for motobike insurance I got a better quote from Suncorp than anyone else (including QBE).... HUGE variance between companies it really pays to shop around :D |
