Medicals? What To Expect

We are going for medicals for immigration purposes tomorrow (UK cit married USC in US, seeking change of status, got lawyer) - any idea what we should expect? Apparently they take blood, Kids bloods too? What is TB skin test like? Any info greatly appreciated. Though we believe we are healthy, we are anxious about it.

My wife and I had our medical done last month. It consisted of:
-3 or 4 shots (various vaccines)
-Blood test (for HIV - I'ts not a pin prick, they draw blood using a
syringe)
-TB Test - this involves giving you a shot (I think just under the
skin) and see if there is a reaction the next day. Apparently the TB
test can sometimes turn up +VE, and usually that is becuz of a vaccine
you could have received when you a kid. This did not happen to either
me or my wife, so I'm not entirely certain what they do if it does
indeed turn up +VE.
-Once all this done, the doc will fill out a form, seal it and give it
to you to send along with your application.
- You might want to call around about the cost for this, I called
about 4-5 different doctors and strangely each one of them quoted a
different dollar amt. - ranging from 185 to 350! This of course needs
to be done by a doc who is authorized by the Imm. folks.

His TB skin text was not positive. So he didn't need chest X-ray.

Our medicals went okay - thanks everyone who showed an interest. The TB test will be monitored tomorrow. If there is a positive reaction then we will have to pay for chest x-rays. As things are, we were sent away to get a multitude of other shots even though we visited the health department a month ago and underwent a series of shots which we were told there would be all that was required!!

The only problem I had was that the doctor, although extremely nice, seemed hard of hearing and a little confused! He sent us for varicella today even though we had MMRs only 18 days ago and apparently there MUST be a one month interval between these unless they are given on the same day. (Luckilly, I read and re-read the literature they handed me and pointed this out to them!) and twice he wrote our birth dates down incorrectly and spelled our names wrong. Good job I was on the ball yesterday. Thanks again and hope this info might help some of you others.
