ha ha no.. engineering, drafting ...long story..hubby one year contract up in few days ..being doing a new role for 9 months with no salary increase ...he trying to work out 1. how to approach it 2. how much to ask for 3. say nothing...
Maybe offered permament role..hes not a contractor ..was one a fixed 12month role...

At my last pay increase i just said that i would have like a bit more than they were offering and could we set a date for a review in x months. ended with me getting an additional 10k there and then.I had an idea of what the role was paying and to be honest the original offer was around average.
Seek usually is a good guide for market value of jobs

Here is the last Ambit survey for WA published in March - Qld rates would probably be similar or maybe 10% less

I saw an electrical drafting job in Perth a few months back for $250,000. I've also seen drafting jobs in the lowly paid architecture field for $50,000. So estimate anywhere in between
